Wedding : Rona + Kivanc – Hopewell Valley Vineyards

Meet Rona + Kivanc. Our client/photographer relationship started as most of our relationships do, an email inquiry from them, a response from us. What made this relationship a bit different is that Rona and Kivanc don’t live in the US as most of our clients do, they live in Europe! Yeah, super cool. So while we couldn’t set up our usual Starbucks coffee date for our first meeting, we set up a short phone conference and the rest was history. We actually met Rona and Kivanc for the first time on their wedding day, but truth be told, it felt like we knew them for a long time, which was great, because it made working with them so easy. Rona + Kivanc’s wedding took place in beautiful Hopewell Valley Vineyards, about an hour from the city. Their reception was held under a gorgeous lighted tent and showcased truly unique details like empty tea containers in addition to the traditional vases for flowers, to the most beautiful non-traditional bridesmaids dresses we’ve EVER seen. These details really set their wedding apart in a very special way. One of my favorite things about this wedding was the guest list! Their guest really flew from all parts of the country to celebrate their special day. Rona and Kivanc also used our photobooth for their wedding and, well yeah.. that was a blast!

We want to Thank Rona + Kivanc for having us along to document their special day! Your wedding was truly beautiful and we enjoyed every bit of it! We wish you a lifetime of love and happiness!

Engagement : Alicia + Harry @ Branch Brook Park – Cherry Blossom Festival

Hi World!

Meet Alicia + Harry. We met this sweet couple bright and early on a Sunday morning at Branch Brook Park in Newark, NJ. Alicia & Harry specifically chose this location because of the Cherry Blossom Festival that was taking place there. From the minute we met them, both were very warm and sweet. They were very receptive to Elkin’s “ooh boy” ideas like dance twirls in the middle of a park and tree climbing. Actually, that was more Alicia then Harry –she’s the self professed “tree climber”. How about standing inches, VERY LITTLE inches away from this big lagoon for a quick shot, that could’ve just as quickly put an end to our session AND dry clothing. The session was playful but laid back… if that makes sense. It sort of had this feel to it: lots of talking and laughter, followed by lots of snapping, followed by lots more talking and even more snapping. Before we knew it — close to three hours had passed though our designated shoot time was for half of that!
